Veebukk scrambled through the brush with an agility that belied his bulk. The bugbear scratched his head as he gazed upon the small caravan travelling through the plains. This group was heading to Tuskany and Veebukk had heard some strange rumours about that place. Sure it was filled with unpleasant and tasty humanoids like, elves and dwarves and humans but he had heard that they even had kobolds. The thought of kobolds brought back a pleasant memory, one of the few Veebukk had ever had in his short brutish life. He remembered sitting around a fire with his mother and father and actually being pleasantly full as they had dined on Kobold stew. Of course a few moments later his father had smacked him on the side of the head for grabbing thirds but for a few precious moments he had actually been…. Happy. He snorted to himself and gazed once more at the small caravan, he could see a few humans and what seemed to be a short little man dressed strangely. He unconsciously started to drool when he realized that he was looking at a gnome. He turned and started to head back to get the rest of his band when for some reason he glanced back. A small red dot was shimmering in the distance and heading his way. For a second he looked on dumbfounded and then realized the dot was approaching at a rapid speed. He managed two steps before his world disappeared into flames, pain and then darkness. Beppo surveyed the flaming remains of the bugbear and grinned to himself. He was pleased, very pleased in deed with this new power that had developed during his diplomatic mission. Rubbing his hands with glee he directed his suddenly much more respectful guards to continue their trip home. Surely Beppo thought with these new powers he and his companions would be unstoppable, unless of course they had messed up everything while he was gone….
